I already connected a payout method a while ago, why is it asking me to reconnect?
For users that have already connected a payout method prior to November 15 2022, you will be asked to reconnect your Stripe and/or PayPal account. This is because there are fundamental changes being made to the way payouts work to enable more powerful commerce features in the future.
Previously, all Jemi users were able to receive payments even before connecting a payout method. Moving forward, users will have to connect a payout method before being able to receive payments.
Your customers will have the option to checkout via PayPal only if you've connected a PayPal account. Additionally, your customers will only have the option to checkout via credit & debit card only if you've connected a Stripe account.
We're making this change for following reasons:
- Soon, you'll be able to change your store's currency (coming soon)
- You'll have more visibility on your payout status
- You'll be able to refund orders easily
- You'll have lower fees for foreign transactions
Connecting to both PayPal and Stripe will give you the most flexibility in receiving payments from your customers.
